Just wanted to share some random stuff we've bought for our travels lately.
#1: I downloaded Dropbox (which is a program designed to hold all of your files and make them accessible from anywhere) and paid $99 for the yearly terabyte because what they give you for free (2GB) is a joke. I couldn't even fit 1/20 of my pictures on it. I was previously using Picasa, but I have to say it's idiotic. I know I'm a Google user on pretty much every other front, but I really don't like Picasa. Every time I plug my phone in to upload recent pictures, it re-uploads ALL my old pictures as well AND re-saves them! I have the same pictures OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER (I could do this like 30 more times) AGAIN! It's ridiculous! About half the time it can't seem to recognize what it's already downloaded and ignore it (even though you can check a box to exclude duplicates...it doesn't work). Anyway, I tried lots of different things and finally I decided to try not giving a shit and just paying $99 for Dropbox. So far, I think I like it. On a most basic level, I just need something that will EASILY upload pictures from my camera or phone and that I can then copy and post on the blog. I also want them to be saved somewhere in the internet atmosphere, in case my laptop breaks or is stolen. I'm not super computer savvy, so major emphasis on the easy part. The cool thing about Dropbox is that it holds all my pictures, documents, etc. (honestly, I don't know what etc. is, but I'm assuming there's more), and I can access them from any computer or phone without taking up space on my harddrive/memory. I guess we'll see eventually if I wasted $100.
#2: I'm looking for a new laptop. I currently have a Lenovo Windows 8 touch screen laptop with a swivel screen that can transform it into a tablet and the only thing all those bells and whistles mean is that I hate it and want a normal laptop. I never swivel it to use the tablet and I HATE Windows 8. It's completely useless and I don't get it at all. I even tried to personalize all the apps so that I would be more compelled to use it, but I find myself ALWAYS switching to the desktop version because IT MAKES SENSE. I just want to do normal stuff on my computer, all this fancy crap just keeps getting in the way. I have no idea what I'm looking for, just something older I guess. I feel like an old lady harping at the younger generation about vinyl records, while they're all listening to CDs and laughing at me (but I can't tell because the old me is hard of hearing). I just feel like some things change just for the sake of change, not for function and that really bugs me (especially after I've bought it AND THEN realize it sucks).
#3: We got water bottles with filters built in:
Aaron ordered them online and the filter screws into the bottom. It lasts 300+ refills (so we got 2 extra filters each). Basically you unscrew the bottom lid and fill with water, then screw the bottom back on and drink from the top. I made that sound really weird and confusing, I have a knack for that I guess.
#4: I got an iHome travel speaker for my iPad. It was a cheap-o because I don't care enough to spend a lot, so hopefully it works:
#5: This USB hub that has 4 ports to charge all our devices (I'm completely unaware if any of that lingo made sense):

#6: These travel bottles for liquids:
Obviously I started with the more important stuff and I'm ending with these tiny plastic bottles. You were on the edge of your seat! Sorry.
I'll let you know when we get more trip gear!
