I finished my Mandela biography and it was A-MAZING! He has lived the most incredible life and is so humble about it. Short summary: He grew up in a rural village in South Africa, went on to become one of the first black lawyers and then a freedom fighter to end the apartheid. He was jailed for his beliefs for 27 years and was finally released when he was 71 years old! He didn't stop there, he kept on fighting until everyone in South Africa had the right to vote (which is how it ends...sorry if I ruined it for you). He also somehow had time for a family (6 kids), although his biggest regret was not being there to raise his children. He also penned this biography, which is so honest, yet modest about his life and accomplishments. He spent his life fighting not for himself, but for the freedom of all. Exceptional human being. I had so many favorite quotes, but the last chapter was by far the best. Of course, I took pictures and included it (I hope that's not some sort of copyright infringement). If you have time, give it a gander (it's really something special):
