House Renters International

We are all settled into our new apartment and we love it!  Check out the amazing view from our wrap-around balcony!
Morning:
Sunset:
Night:
As you can tell, I can't get enough!  As promised, here are some pics of our apartment.  Keep in mind I didn't clean up before taking the pics, so stuff is just kind of everywhere (I swear I'm not usually so messy and I'm usually better at containing the mess when Hurricane Aaron comes through).  By the way, don't you hate it when you're looking at house pictures on Redfin and the house is super cluttered and messy?  It's like "Duuuude!  Are you trying to sell your house, or just have an indoor garage sale?"  I seriously don't get how people can post pictures of rooms that are cluttered with stuff and expect to get a decent offer.  It's all about staging, people!  Anyway, I now understand those lazy-ass people because I'm one of them.  Just try to ignore all the crap and use your imagination.
Living room:
Bathroom:
Omg I missed having 2 sinks!
Kitchen:
The stove doesn't work, so it's basically a hot plate, which takes forever to heat up (sore subject, since I like to be able to fry an egg in under 20 minutes).  I know I sound like a total whiny brat because look at our neighbors down below:
They live it tiny tin shacks (although one of them has a satellite dish!) and it's so weird to look down from our balcony and see that, but that's the way some people live here.  I guess my hot plate isn't so bad after all.
Bedroom:
I left the lights off because Aaron was still sleeping.  He hasn't been feeling good lately (everywhere we went in the past week, people were sick!  At both hostels and on both planes people were coughing and sniffling.  Omg go away!!), so I'm letting him sleep in and I painstakingly made him breakfast for when he wakes up (okay, I'm officially done complaining about the hot plate now):
The city of Patong is great, it's got sort of an old and new town area, just like Rhodes.  I'll take pictures next time we venture into town, but I'm usually on the back of a scooter, so it's hard to snap away.  I did take a bunch at the grocery store the other day and let me tell you it was awesome!  The store is gigantic with 2 floors and rows and rows of foods I've never seen before!  We were there for 2 hours and didn't get through everything!  Of course, I took pictures of the stuff I thought was cool:
All rice:
All lactose-free milk products:
Green tea Kit Kat:
I'll admit, out of all that stuff the only thing I bought was the Kit Kat.  Not to worry, I'm sure we'll be trying all kinds of weird stuff very soon!

On a side: I was watching TV and there are like 5 different news channels in different languages (we've got FOX News in English (eww!), a Thai news channel, a German news channel, a French news channel and an Arab news channel) and on EVERY channel was coverage of the shooting in Oregon.  It was seriously international news.  When will it be enough for us to get our heads out of our asses and do something before it happens again??  It's madness and every other country is looking at us as an example of what NOT to do.  We're so worried about terrorists that we don't even realize what's going on in our own backyard.  Frustrating...ok rant over.  I need a DayQuil.
