Yipee!!!

I have very exciting news: we are currently in escrow!  We put in an offer on a bank-owned house in El Sobrante and we finally got accepted.  We've signed a bazillion papers, none of which meant anything, except to say that there are way fewer trees in the world now thanks to us.
I mean seriously people, this is the digital age and I can e-sign with the best of them!
Anyway, they estimate the deal will be done on New Year's Eve.  Therefore, we are hoping to leave for our trip somewhere around mid-January.  YIPEE!!!
On a sad note, Aaron has left me for a month to go work in Hawaii.  I dropped him off this morning and he was practically giddy with excitement.  Here's the picture he sent from the plane:
What an asshole!
However, before he left I got him to try on his jacket:
Yea, he looks like a total creeper, but try to ignore that and focus instead on the awesomeness of the jacket.  It's a Columbia and believe it or not, the lining actually unzips into a second, lighter jacket!  Oh snap!  Now he's got a backpack in a backpack AND a jacket in a jacket!!  I'm practically speechless!  I, on the other hand, have one backpack and one jacket...BOR-ING!  I definitely need to step my game up.
In other news, we had our annual Christmas party at my parents' house today (WAY too early, I'm aware) and it was super fun!  My mom did her usual weirdo selfie:
and Kane had so much fun at his first Christmas party, he can't even contain his excitement:
Speaking of my baby boy, my parents made the mistake of leaving him home alone and since he sometimes gets anxiety when left alone, this is what happened:
He chewed the windowsill!  It actually goes all the way across the bottom of the window, but I couldn't fit it all in the picture.  That's how BAD IT IS!  Hopefully he'll grow out of this habit before we leave (crossing all my fingers and toes).
Life-changing moment alert: I finally ordered my Christmas cards!  I found the perfect template and it was adorable, but when I plugged my pictures in, it got very finicky and wouldn't fit them.  In the end, I ended up making my own card from scratch (and yelling at Aaron about 4 times in frustration-we always take it out on the ones we love, don't we?).  It took FOREVER and it isn't exactly what I wanted, but it'll have to do.  I know you're dying to see it, so I'll post a pic after I send them out (next week?).
That about does it on my end, lots happening in the grand scheme of things, but on a day to day basis life is still pretty much the same.  Okay, I'm off to finish watching Maleficent.  If you haven't seen it, it's pretty darn good.  It reminds me a lot of Wicked; a humanizing the witch story.  Check it out!  By the way, I'm telling anyone who will listen to me gush about how much I absolutely LOVED Interstellar!  It was FANTASTIC!  GO SEE IT NOOOOOW!
